It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Steven Michael Akkanen of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, who passed away on February 15, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, John Akkanen and Barbara Akkanen (Michaels-Ferguson). He is survived by : his friends, Darien Neveu and Robert Brown; his wife Christine Akkanen; his daughter Erin; and his siblings, John Akkanen (Nan) of Brimley, MI and Karin Pingatore (Ed) of Brimley, MI. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and nephews.

Memorials may be given to Best of Friends Humane Society, 149 E. 7 Mile Road, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.
