He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Mattia, Sr. and Caroline Rochetti; and his sister Joanne Dalluge. He is survived by : his wife Armine; his children, Debora Peterson (Carl) of Marquette, Mary Beth Depue (Jeff) of South Haven, David Mattia (Debra) of Felch and Robert Mattia (Shelloy) of Melbourne, Florida; his grandchildren, Kelly Robertson, Sean Mattia, Lexi Matter and Sydney Mattia; and his siblings, Jon Mattia of Norway, Michigan and Arlene Basso of Norway, Michigan..
