He was predeceased by : his parents, Salomon Rintala and Jennie Rintala (Haataja); his wife Lois Junttonen; and his siblings, Richard, Wallace, Florence Seppala, Ethel Lohela, Hazel Kilpela, Verna Alatalo and Signe Bakkila.
He is survived by : his children, Gloria Chestolowski (Edward, Sr.) of Wrightstown, Gordon Rintala (Holly) of Chassell and Joann Niemerg (James) of Rockford, Illinois; his sister Nora Pantano of Atlantic Mine; his grandchildren, Edward Chestolowski Jr. (Jennifer), Kenneth Chestolowski (Melissa), Ryan Rintala (Jennie), Brett Rintala (Kaitlyn), Derek Rintala, Jock Hyland Jr., Jennifer Garrett (Jeremy) and Jonathan Niemerg; and his siblings-in-law, Vernon Harju (Donna), Laurian Osantowski (Ronald) and Neldine Smith. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and friends.
