He is survived by : his wife Barbara; his children, Laura Matthies (Doug) and Dudley Smith IV (Kimberly); his grandchildren, Paige Matthies, Miles, Owen and John Smith; and his siblings, Dolores Karl, Craig Smith (Barbara), Gail Showers, Bruce Smith (Rachel) and Andra Powers (Mike). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
