He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Walter and Alice Mae Hughes (Kiser); and his siblings, Richard Hughes, Thomas Hughes, Gary Hughes, Darlene Meyer and Patricia Lightel.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Hughes; his children, Donna LeClair (David), Dawn Major (Mark), Wade Hughes (Shantell) and Michelle Hughes (Troy Ferdig); his grandchildren, Maia LeClair Sheaffer (David), Andrew Major (Yasmin), Carolynn Major, Danielle Rodeghier, Lane Hughes, Bella Hughes, Vincent Hughes, Owen Ferdig and Joslyn Ferdig; his brothers, Charles Hughes (Barb), Robert Hughes and Dennis Hughes (Kathy); and his father-in-law Ralph Mullins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
