He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Pierre and Mary Tyyne Verville (Frantila); his grandparents, Wilfred, Augusta Verville, Eino and Liisa Frantila; his siblings, Ronald and Carolyn; and his former wife Ruth Verville (Jalkanen).
He is survived by: his wife Jan Altizer-Verville; his son Jonathan Verville (Sarah Joy) of Virginia; his grandsons, Anders and Jakob; his stepdaughter Colleen Revard (Matt); his stepgrandson Leo; his mother-in-law Sue Snow of Traverse City; and his brother-in-law Michael Snow (Susan) of Traverse City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Great Lakes Humane Society, 7246 E. Harrys Rd., Traverse City, MI 49684, in honor of Jim's love for animals and in memory of his faithful companion, Bootsie.
