He was predeceased by: his parents, Egyptian and Roufail Mikhail; his sister Samira; and his grandmother Agiya. He is survived by: his wife Magda; his children, Joseph (Mary), Jerry (Sally) and Mira (Sherif); his grandchildren, Jonah, Peter, Jeremy, Jasmine, Benjamin, Amelia and Tommy; and his siblings-in-law, Medhat (Patty) and Maha. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.

Against all odds, he survived a novel virus early in a pandemic when treatment was uncertain.
