He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James "Ralph" Burgess and Eloise Burgess; his wife Judith A Wilber; his brother Tyrus (Judith); his children, James (Kim) and Joslyn (Brent); and his grandchildren, Daniel, Alexandria, McKena, Sarah, Beckham, Clayton, Morgan and Weston. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
