He was predeceased by: his parents, Ella Gorning and Louis Gorning; his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Gorning; his sisters, Beverly Heintz (late George) and Shirley O'Neil (late Milt); and his sister-in-law Catherine Youatt.

He is survived by: his children, Amanda Godin (Jared Lawrence) and Steven Gorning (Megan Kotter); his granddaughter Pascale Elizabeth Godin; his brother Don Gorning (Jean); his sister-in-law Mary Steinbauer (late Doug); Nate Lawrence. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
