It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Gertrude Christie of Troy, Michigan, born in Ferndale, Michigan, who passed away on January 2, 2021, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Henry Christie and Edna Mary Bur; her brother Joseph J. Christie (Beatrice); her nephew Alan Christie; and her sister-in-law Elsie Smallwood.
She is survived by: her sibling's children, Anne Anikis (George), Jean Holmquist (Bill), Paul Christie (Candace), Mark Christie (Betty) and David Christie (Cynthia); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Samantha, Madeline, Rebecca, Megan Christie, Lauren Morelli (Nick), Sarah Rauser (Nick), John Holmquist and Matthew Christie. She is also survived by Aunt Mary's many dear friends and relatives.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the graveside service will be private.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Mary, the family requests that any memorial donation be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen of the Provence of St. Joseph of the Capuchin Order, located at 1820 Mt. Elliott, Detroit, Michigan, 48207.
