He was predeceased by : his parents, William F. Coon and Hazel F. Coon (Rasmussen); and his siblings, Elbert, Lynn, Bob, Dwayne, Jean and Jerry.

He is survived by : his wife Phyllis Garlic; his son Andrew J. Coon; his stepchildren, David Morris (Cherrye) of Grand Ledge, Roy Morris (Nancee) of Portland, Linda MacQueen (John) of Minnesota, Debra Morris of Howard City, Carol Skowron of Grant and Glen Morris (Vicki) of Fremont; and his siblings, Madelyn Coon-Beagle of Dalton Township and Bill Coon (Joan). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
