He was predeceased by : his sister Jorean VanPortFleet; his siblings-in-law, John Kwant, Ade VanderGriend, Floyd Dornbush, Anne Dornbush, Howard Goris, Marian Goris and Ruth Dornbush; and his daughters-in-law, Andrea Doezema Dykstra and Cheryl Dood Dykstra.

He is survived by : his wife Maxine; his children, Douglas John Dykstra of West Olive, Barbara Post (Michael) of Belmont and Patricia Loeffler (Mark) of Rancho Mirage, CA; his grandchildren, Benjamin John Dykstra of Grand Rapids, MI, Rebecca Dykstra of Belmont, MI, Matthew John Post (Lindsey) of Berlin, Laura Meeusen (Chris) of Belmont, Daniel Post of Belmont, Rachel Cudney (Chris) of Grand Haven, Jacqueline Wright (Robert) of Menifee, Michael Thompson (Anita) of Long Beach, Christopher Loeffler (Abby) of Washington and Kelsi Loeffler Ashburn (Eric) of Chattanooga, TN.; his brother-in-law Wayne Dornbush; his sisters, Ruth Kwant and Betty VanderGriend; and his brother-in-law Gordon VanPortFleet.
