Carl Edison Southerland III Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carl Edison Southerland III of Westland, Michigan, who passed away on November 5, 2025 at the age of 32. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Carl Southerland Sr., Ruth Marie Southerland and Michael William Porta; and his nephew Roman Bryant. He is survived by: his daughter Aurora Rae Southerland; his parents, Carl Southerland and Jennifer Porta; his stepmother Kathleen Southerland; his siblings, Taylor Southerland, Erica Stamper (Naz) and Michael Cischke (Melissa); and his grandmother Pat Porta. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the L. J. Griffin Funeral Home (7707 Middlebelt Rd, Westland, MI 48185). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
