Odell Long Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 6, 2025, at the age of 72, Odell Long of Inkster, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Long of Alabama and Ella Mae Dover Long of Georgia; and his siblings, Cecil Long, Carnell Long (Anne) and Alicia Featherstone (John).
He is survived by: his children, LaShawna Hightower, De-Shawn Long, Shaunte Long-Smith (Long) of Texas and Tanesha Dobbins (Jamal); his grandchildren, De-Shawn Long Jr. and Skylar Smith; his siblings, Michael Long (Diane), Theodore Long (Phyllis) and Bernadette Hargrave (Ralph); and his significant other Deborah Cox. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, his children kindly request contributions to the Odell Francis Long Memorial Scholarship Fund, established to support first-generation college students who are children and grandchildren of absent parents.
