He was predeceased by : his son John Wayne Griffin; and his sister Mary Gonzalez. He is survived by : his parents, Carl William and Carol Lee Griffin Sr. (Kolasse); his wife Stephanie; his children, Jack Jacob "JJ" Burbank, Joseph Levine and Skyler Levine; and his siblings, Carl William "Bill" Griffin Jr. and Carol Lynn Griffin.
