Gwenda L. Guthrie Obituary

The memory of Gwenda L. Guthrie of Ypsilanti, Michigan, who passed away on May 16, 2025 at the age of 75, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Gwenda may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gwenda touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John B. Gardner and Loretta M. Gardner (Gale); and her sister Joyce Gardner. She is survived by: her husband Tom Guthrie; her son John Guthrie (Tonya); and her sister Sharon Smith (James "Jim"). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Matthaei Botanical Gardens in her honor.
