He was predeceased by : his parents, Lawrence Peterson and Theodora Peterson (Larson); his wife Joan Odden; his sister Lavonne; his brother-in-law Lynn Lammer; and his brother Larry Peterson.

He is survived by : his siblings, Eldora Sheldon of Saint Cloud and Jonathon Peterson (Joanne) of Ada; and his sister-in-law Betty Jo Peterson of Ada. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral: Due to public health concerns with the coronavirus called COVID-19, a private family funeral will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at 10: 00 AM, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

All undesignated memorials will be given in Marvin's memory to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
