He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schmidt and Lorraine Schmidt (Bowatz); his siblings, Shirley Stewart, Dale and Gerald Schmidt; and his godchild Kelly Jo Imsande.
He is survived by: his sons, Edward (Jackie) of Annandale and Craig (Stephanie) of Annandale; his wife Clementine "Mae" of Annandale; his grandson Dale Edward Schmidt; his stepgrandchildren, Arielle and Emily Robinson; his grandson Levi Noggle; his siblings, Mary Lou Ingram (Don) of Bloomington and Larry Schmidt (Dawn) of Long Prairie; his sister-in-law Doris Schmidt of Blaine; and his godchildren, Candie Fennema and Debbie Bechtold. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
