He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Scherping and Veronica Scherping; his brother Albin; his nephew Michael; his wife Erna (Weidner); his siblings, Edwin and Yvonne Johnson; and his children, Roger, Gary, Dennis, Dave, Rick, Nancy Konkel and Ann Morris. He was also cherished by thirteen grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
