He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Swanson; his son Bruce; his parents, George Swanson and Nora Swanson; his sister Elvina; his brother-in-law Alf Vinje; his parents-in-law, Vern and Thelma Crosby; and his brother-in-law Jerry Crosby.
He is survived by: his children, Vicki Nesheim of Eagan, Steve Swanson of Plymouth and Nancy Sorenson (Gary) of Faribault; his grandchildren, Kristy Kes (Keith), Stephanie Swanson, Sarah Davis, Michael Nesheim, Derek Sorenson (Laura), Sarah Nesheim and Jackie Swanson; his great grandchildren, River Olson, Landon, Lucas, Liam and Paisley Nesheim; and his sister Shirlee Roen (Edward).
