She was predeceased by : her parents, Harrison Melby and Bernice Melby (Sebey); and her husband Edward Peake Jr.. She is survived by : her children, Molly Bruiniga of Battle Lake, MN, Katie Jenkins of Alexandra, VA, Jason Byars (Melissa) of Rapid City, SD and Michael Byars of Fergus Falls, MN; her grandchildren, Harrison, Emma, Charli, Cooper, Luke and Noah; and her sister Patricia Kelm of Battle Lake, MN.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the PioneerCare Celebration Center (1131 S Mabelle Ave, Fergus Falls, MN 56537). A memorial service was held on Friday, May 24th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
