He was predeceased by : his daughter Jean Hickner; and his granddaughter Paige Holcomb. He is survived by : his sibling George Bernard Hickner of Phoenix; his spouse Doris Mildred Bolduc Hickner; and his children, Matthew Hickner (Janet) of Bakersfield, Bridget Hickner-Carroll (Forest) of Ft. Smith, Kristen Hickner (Fred Damian) of Pasadena, Andrew Hickner (Duuana) of Medina, Allan Hickner (Janet Robin) of Lake Jackson and Edward Hickner (Lori) of Angleton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by check to Friends of the Brazoria Wildlife in memory of Richard A. Hickner and mailed to PO Box 505, Lake Jackson, TX 77566-0505.
