He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Ludwig Heitkamp and Ida Heitkamp (Graupentine); his siblings, Earl, Ruth, Delores and Adaline; and his grandson David Keup.
He is survived by: his wife Luella; his children, Jenny Heitkamp, Sharon Schultz (David), Diane Keup (Karl) and Kent Heitkamp (Joan); his grandchildren, Kyle Blume (Megan Berkowitz), Matthew Heitkamp, Abby Blume (Gregg Stutman), Scott Keup, Christopher Heitkamp and Drew Keup (Madison Fors); his great grandchild Nathan Heitkamp; and his siblings, Betty Lenz and Ervin Heitkamp (Lynette).
A burial will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery (300 S Buffalo St, Belle Plaine, MN 56011). Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (500 W Church St, Belle Plaine, MN 56011).
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Ney Nature Center or the Orville Heitkamp Dollars for Scholars Fund.
