He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Jones and Linda Mitchell; his grandparents, Thomas Mitchell Sr. and Lucy Mitchell; his sister Evelyn Jones; his aunts, Margaret Blesi and Irene Mitchell; his uncle Thomas Mitchell, Jr.; and his sibling's children, Dimitri Cantu and Yolanda Lopez.
He is survived by: his daughters, Belinda Mitchell of Minneapolis, Lovetta Mitchell of River Falls, Rachelle Mitchell of Cass Lake and Jennifer Polchow of Walker; and his siblings, Stan Jones of Onigum, Christopher "Mikey" Jones of Burnsville, Christine Torres of Minneapolis and Rachel Jones of Onamia. He is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews.
