He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry E. Cann and Lydia C. Cann (Sorenson); his siblings, Donald Cann and Eva Mae Regnier; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Dickinson, Earle Dickinson, John Regnier and Virginia Cann.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Dickinson Cann; his son Matthew Cann; his daughter-in-law Staci Cann; his grandchildren, Levi Cann and Morgan Cann; and his sisters-in-law, Donna Dickinson, Mariann Dickinson and Muffy Dickinson. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church or Masonic Children's Hospitals.
