It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Genevieve Tangen of Bemidji, Minnesota, who passed away on March 10, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred L. Rasmussen and Emma A. Hylland; her son David; and her siblings-in-law, Richard Johnson, Marilyn and Willis Wagner of Fisher, MN..
She is survived by: her husband Dennis S. Tangen; her children, Helen, Erica Crouch (John David), Ashley Greenwood (Geoff), Jonathan Tangen (Natalee), Mike, Shannon Tangen of Bemidji, MN, Adam Tangen (Kim), Chelsea Gasser (Tom), Alyson Adams (Shawn), Michelle Meyer (Kevin), Kevin Tangen (Kristen), Laurel, Wendy Tangen Foster and James Tangen Foster of Danbury, WI; and her sister-in-law Betty Ann Johnson of Crookston, MN. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, 6 nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers and with respect to Helen's love of education and music, memorials may be designated for Bemidji's Headwaters Music & Arts, or the Endowment Fund of First Lutheran Church in Bemidji.
