He was predeceased by: his parents, Ingvald Malterud and Florence Malterud (Brennan); his wife Janet; his son Roger; and his siblings, Richard, Donald, Donna, Frank, Kenneth and Linda.
He is survived by: his significant other Jeanette Erie of Bemidji; his siblings, Robert "Bob" of Northome, Daniel "Dan" of Eveleth, Bruce of Bemidji, Patricia "Pat" Tangborn of Laporte and Lee "Butch" of Bemidji; his sons, Gordon Malterud (Odell) of New Prague and Mark Malterud (Colleen) of Eagan; his grandchildren, Anthony, Rachel and Ryan; and his great grandchildren, Christopher, Devin, Avery, Emma, Harper and Carly.
