He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Mildred Sandwick, John and Viola Flom. He is survived by: his spouses, Margaret McCarthy and Maggie McCalip of Bemidji; his sons, Oliver McCalip of Bemidji, John "Jack" McCalip of Bemidji and Charles McCalip of Bemidji; his parents, Charles McCalip and Veronica McCalip of Bemidji; and his brothers, Mike McCalip of Bemidji and John McCalip of Bemidji.
