It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Backlund Jr. of Big Lake, Minnesota, born in Elk River, Minnesota, who passed away on August 28, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Richard O. Backlund, Sr.; his daughter Shannon; and his father-in-law Bernard Moos. He is survived by: his wife Mona (Moos); his son Joseph; his granddaughter Cheyenne of Fargo, ND; his mother Darlene Lanz (Hudson) of Big Lake; and his sisters, Sandra Lowe of Powder Springs, GA, Sally Berthiaume (Jeff) of Becker and Sheila Berthiaume (Jerry) of Big Lake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
