Merle was predeceased by: wife Betty Lou. Merle is survived by: children, Patricia Mueller (Roy), Monica Colbert (Dwayne) and Timothy Helmer; and grandchildren, Kevin, Jamie (Shawn), Kristine (Kevin), Justin (Spring), Nicholas and Michael. Merle is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.
