He is survived by: his parents, David Valnes and Debra Valnes (Fischer) of Eden, SD; his wife Deanna K. Oberg of Ramsey, MN; his children, Josh (Chelsea), Bo (Taryn) and Natalia; and his siblings, Emit Valnes (Jayme) of Eden, SD, Mandy Shultz (Kevin) of Orono, MN, Samantha Greenman (Dave) of Watertown, SD and Ashley Dahl (Eric) of Sisseton, SD. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; numerous aunts and uncles; numerous nieces and nephews.
