He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hess and Christine Hess; his wife Angeline Fetting; his children, Sandy Hess and Jim Hess; and his grandson Shawn Hess.
He is survived by: his children, Jon Hess, Susan McKinney (Craig), Jody Hess, Joe Hess and Jerri Kallroos (Timothy). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Good Samaritan Society Bethany or Saundra B. Hess Scholarship Fund at Central Lakes College.
