He was predeceased by: his father Delmer Hines; his daughter Courtney; his grandparents, Caroline White, Kelly Eberly, Ida and Vic Hines; and his uncle Sonny.

He is survived by: his mother Carol Tolbert (Eberly); his son Mason; his sisters, Missy and Andrea; his nieces and nephews, Ava and Layne; his aunts and uncles, Kathy, Marlene, Mike and Gordy; his close friends, Mesha Thurman and Mark Omtvedt; and his pets, Rocky, Bentley and Chumlee. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.

Covid-19 only had the effect of further slowing down an already slow process.

The family would prefer memorials in Shawn's name to be donated to the GoFundMe fundraiser in his name.
