He was predeceased by: his parents, William Maier and Esther Maier (Hendrickson); his wife Doris Emmaline Evenson; his sons, Lawrence and Bruce Maier; and his siblings, Earl, Donald, Howard, William, Dale Maier and Dorothy Sabyan.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda BonAmie (Mark) of St. Cloud and Tamra Athmann (Kenneth) of Brainerd; his daughters-in-law, Norma Maier of St. Cloud and Ellen Maier of Fargo, ND; his brother Denny Maier (Leanne) of Zumbrota; his grandchildren, Theresa Bawassa (Rema), Tina Maier, Kristopher Maier, Pamela BonAmie, Leea Maier, Deana Kaleindl (Brian), Allan Neiman and Nathan Maier; and his great grandchildren, Caiden Curtis, Emma Maier, Jaxten BonAmie and Carter ChirChir.
