He is survived by: his children, Butch Smude and Bernie Hoffman (Rob) of Pierz; his granddaughters, Katie and Macy of Pierz; his brother Earl Schlegel (Betty) of Farmington; and his siblings-in-law, Leander Motschke of Little Falls, Matthew Motschek of Little Falls, Dorthy Theilen of Pierz, Betty Brenny (Mark) of Waite Park and Janet Schlegel of Eagan.
