He was predeceased by : his parents, Alfred Muehlenhardt and Adela Muehlenhardt; his children, Julie and Jerry; and his brother Ronald.

He is survived by : his spouse Beverly Jacobson; his children, Gary and Lori Clausen (David); his granddaughter Samantha Clausen; his brother Lyle Muehlenhardt (Barbara); and his sister-in-law LaVerne Muehlenhardt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
