He was predeceased by: his son Andy; his parents, Patrick Welsh and Mary Welsh; his parent-in-law Ben Voss; his siblings, Margaret, Darlene, Josephine and Edward; and also Leona Voss.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Diane Ruth (Randy) of Plainfield, Denise Pavlovec (Tim) of Urbana, Jayme Welsh (Gloria) of Champlin, Dawn Kuster (Rich) of Bunceton, Rick Welsh (Julie) of Lansing, Danette Jones (Dwight) of Waukon, Dana Welsh of Lansing, Deanna Gerholdt (Jon) of Plainfield, Danielle Howe (Jason), Dacia Sommer (Jason) of Waukon, Lance Welsh of Lansing and Destiny Welsh of Des Moines; his brother Bernard; and his brothers-in-law, Leona Welsh, Esther Welsh, Sarah Welsh, Bob Heffern, Bob Gonsalves, Maralyn Welsh, Bernard Voss (Myra), Robert Voss (Marcia), Carol Berns (Fred) and Donald Voss (Mary Pat). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
