LaRae Nelson Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaRae Nelson of Champlin, Minnesota, who passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Stuart Freeman and Dorothy Freeman (Evenson); her siblings, Sherry, Larry, Billy and Lee Freeman; her former husband Gary Oquist; her nephew Damon Blue; and her niece Wendy Sullivan.
She is survived by: her husband Robert Nelson; her children, Michelle Smith (James), Cheryl Oquist and Matt Oquist (Kari); her stepchildren, Scott Nelson (Sharon), Craig Nelson (Suzy) and Pam Hayes (Mark); her grandchildren, Callie Nelson, Nick Nelson (Angel), Lauren Craft (Derek), Drew Hayes (Andi), Bobby Nelson (Haylie), Alesha Schaufler (Jeremy), Alex Hayes, Emily Bley (David), Claire Oquist and Garik Oquist; her great grandchild Sister Kathy Blue; and her sisters-in-law, Sharon and Kathy Freeman.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bridgewood Community Church (11670 Lexington Ave NE, Blaine, MN 55449).
