He was predeceased by : his parents, Egbert Fokken and June Fokken (Albrecht); his nephew Gregg Fokken; and his brother-in-law Harlan Nieuwbeerta. He is survived by : his siblings, Jim Fokken (Barb) of Hibbing, Karen Nieuwbeerta of Alexandria and Edith Tensen (Gene) of Sunburg; and his nieces and nephews, Shawn Fokken (Gregg) of Oronoco, Nancy Strom (Tim) of Hibbing, Jennifer Barnes (Jim) of Queen Creek, AZ, Julie Ostendorf (Dan Amor) of Carlos, Jeff Nieuwbeerta (Wendy) of Alexandria, Jill Thompson (Jamey) of Montevideo, Daniel Tensen of Sunburg, Aaron Tensen (Sara) of Spicer, Loren and Jeff Treml (Marilyn) of Grand Prairie, TX. He is also survived by extended family, many friends.

“I am saddened to learn of Loren’s passing. We were classmates from first grade on. Loren, was a kind, caring, gentle giant. He was dedicated to the Boy Scouts. Our middle son was blessed to have Loren in his life through ought scouts. My condolences to his family. Diane (Korn) McCarthy”
