He was predeceased by : his parents, Virgil Lettau and Esther Lettau (Seeman); and his sister Debra Lettau. He is survived by : his wife Phyllis Eckhardt; his friends, Pat and Jerry; his brother Michael Lettau (Karen); his sons, Jason and Shaun; his stepgrandchildren, Chad (Mallory), Lindsey Albright (Jason), Adam (Jonathan) and David Eckhardt (Lyndsey); his great grandchildren, Stella and Arlo Albright; his aunts, Vernice Stegeman and Ione Noble; his friends, Gerald Sievers, Brad Jessen and Arlen Koepp; and also, Sandra Koepp (Greg), Josh, Joel, Amanda, Barb Willander (Eloit), Aaron, Aimee, Ellen Wyffels (Victor) and John (Deb). He is also survived by many cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society and Zion Lutheran Church.
