He was predeceased by: his parents, Eino Korkala and Selma Korkala; and his sisters, Emma and Ellen. He is survived by: his children, Lee Korkala, Mitchell Korkala, Warren Korkala (Marsha), Dale Korkala (Andrea), Kathy McMullen and Kimberly Korkala Paulson; and his sisters, Kathleen Lindquist (Larry), Barbara Rowe (Don) and Ann King. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
