He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis DeFoe and Virginia DeFoe (Northrup); and his siblings, Charles, Glen, Francis, Laura, Brenda and Sharon.

He is survived by: his sister Karen "Katy" Hegg. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
