She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Gleason and Exillia Gleason (Demers); her husband Edward "Pete" Polley; her siblings, Jeanne Sell, Maryann Baumann and James Gleason; her children, Wayne Polley, Rita Erickson (Fred), Anne Anderson (Ron), Keith Polley, Judith Polley and Jason Polley; and her grandchildren, Glen Anderson (Lynette), Jennifer Collelo, Greg Anderson, Michael Anderson, Seth Polley (Heather) and Shannon Swegle (Ben). She was also cherished by ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; and many adored nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers Irene's family is asking for memorials to be made in her name to either Queen of Peace Parish or Solvay Hospice House.
