She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton Swenson and Ruth Swenson (Blomquist); her husband Willard Elmquist (Bill); her grandson David; her siblings, Florence Erickson and Arnold Swenson; and her parents-in-law, Alton Erickson, Kathryn Swenson, Walter, Hazel Johnson, Harold, Gladys Brandt, John and Muriel Elmquist.
She is survived by: her brother Kenneth Swenson (Lorraine); her children, James Elmquist, David Elmquist (Colleen), Barbara Gustafson (Mark) and Scott Elmquist (Nancy); her grandchildren, Sarah Squires, William Elmquist, Amy Hartsoch (Erik), Eric Elmquist (April) and Seth Elmquist (Nicole); and her great grandchildren, Ben, Jacob, Michael, Ellery Harstsoch, Madilynn, Miles and Mack Elmquist. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
As Alzheimer's disease stole more and more of her mind and memories, the lyrics of her beloved hymns remained with her.
