With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Harry Szlaius of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, who passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William G. Szlaius and Esther Szlaius (Smuczynski); and his sister Dianne Szlaius. He is survived by: his wife Mary Szlaius (Freiburger); his children, Catherine McDonnell (James) and William Joseph Szlaius (Krista); his grandchildren, Madeleine, Zachary, Isabella McDonnell and Anna Szlaius; and his stepgrandchildren, Veronica, Serena and William Cavanaugh.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Rita's Catholic Church (8694 80th St S, Cottage Grove, MN 55016). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
