He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Somers and Ruth Somers; and his siblings, Loren Somers, Cecil Somers and Pearl Neilson (Cora Somers).

He is survived by : his close friend Betty Moe; his children, Sharon Baur (Marvin), Ruth Shol (Gene), Bruce Somers (Cindy), Susan Somers and Judy Sackett (Dennie); and his grandchildren, Brian, Dawn, Shane, Randi, Jeremy, Jody, Joshua, Elisha, Chelsea, Jonathan, Jeffrey and Annette. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
