She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Butler and Bernice Butler; her sister Mary Lou Lawrence; her sister-in-law Phyllis Hummel; her nephews, Scott Hummel and Christopher Staehling; her friend Marvel Wurtz Helgeson; Gary (Wanda), Jake and Val Hummel.
She is survived by: her husband Lynn Hummel; her children, Jane Nelson (Steve), Guy (Lauren) and Sally Roe (Myron); her grandchildren, Ryan (Kendra Lystad), Tessa Rose (Justin), Taylor Nelson, Christian Nelson, Brian Nelson, Sam Hummel, Olivia Hummel, Maya Roe, Eli Roe and Anya Roe; her great grandchildren, Fern and Mae; and her grandchildren, Shonda Stevig Kencal (Eric) and Mortaza Ahmady.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A prayer will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the West Kjos Funeral Home Cremation Services (900 Summit Ave, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church (912 Lake Ave, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501).
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Agape Fund at First Lutheran Church.
