He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Johnston and Ann Johnston (Nonnie); and his siblings, Annete Pawlak, Wayne Johnston and Gerard Johnston (Jed).
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Krebsbach; his children, Gina Adamski of Detroit Lakes and Robert (Kristina Johnston) of Hastings, MN; his granddaughters, Harriet and Eloise; his siblings, Craig Johnston (Gurine), Brian Johnston of Detroit Lakes, Barb Grefsrud (Ron) of West Fargo and Eugene (Cheryl) of Albany; and his sister-in-law Colleen Johnston of Big Lake, MN. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nephews and great-great nieces and a great-great grandnephew.
