It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lester Bryon Kiehl (Detroit Lakes, Minnesota), who passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Kiehl (Glawe) and Fred Kiehl; his wife Mary Ellingson; and his siblings, Charles, Harvey, Richard, Leona and Florence.
He is survived by: his children, Gloria (Douglas), Kathy, Lester Jr. (Brenda), Jim (Amanda) and Joe; his grandchildren, Jeremie, Tony, Twyla, Keith, Krystal, Lester III, Holly, Angela, Faith, Tim and Meghan; and his sisters, Helen of Washington and Evelyn (Herman) of Washington.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the West Kjos Funeral Home Cremation Services (900 Summit Ave, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 18th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Augustana Lutheran Cemetery (21896 Co Hwy 22, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501).
