He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Petersen and Anna Petersen (Lubenow); his siblings, Roland, Martin, Eugene, LeRoy, Henry, Marlin and Helen; and his parents-in-law, Nick and Leona Schmidt.
He is survived by: his significant other Ione Schmidt; his children, Roger (Dianne) of St. Cloud, Kathy of Willmar, Danny (Sandy) of Kimball, Vicky Buhr (Geoff) of Sioux Falls, SD, Jim (Donna) of Alexandria and Tim (Rolee) of Sauk Centre; his siblings, Walter (Karon) of Neosha, MO and Mary Ann Hansel of Ceylon, MN; and his brother-in-law Larry Schmidt (Barb) of Ceylon. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
